[Original Artwork] Chirality
This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork.
Size: H905 × W555 × D32 mm
Materials: Wooden frame, canvas, acrylic paint, acrylic gouache, gesso, matte varnish
Year: 2024
This painting features an original decorative frame, painted to resemble an antique mirror, and attached to a canvas panel.
The title, Chirality ✨, refers to the property of a three-dimensional object that cannot be superimposed on its mirror image.
The self reflected in a mirror, on a screen, or within a virtual space can never perfectly overlap with one's actual self. I created this work with the idea that the image depicted is a reflection of an idealized self—an image of who we aspire to be, yet one that can never truly become one with ourselves.
Please note that colors may appear slightly different from the actual artwork depending on your computer or smartphone display settings.
